Lavender is a popular, widely grown herb that is prized for it's fragrance. You can find lavender appearing in everything from baby wash to sophisticated perfume. In a poll given to 100 men, it was discovered that their favorite scents were pumpkin pie, and lavender. Lavender is used in aromatherapy for it's soothing properties, and mixes beautifully with chamomile to create a scent that calms babies and adults alike.
To me, I would say lavender is a clean, fresh scent. On it's own, it's crisp and soapy. But when blended with other fragrance notes, it takes on a whole new life. There are many lavender perfume choices that feature this herb both in single and multiple note scents. Here are some of my top picks:
Donna Karan Essence Lavender -- This gorgeous fragrance combines designer Donna Karan's four favorite fragrances: lavender, jasmine, wenge and labdanum.
Serge Lutens Encens et Lavande -- This lavender perfume, made by a master perfumer, is the perfect balance of sharpness and sweetness. This scent smells like a lavender field, yet offers the nose a light whiff of smoky amber.
Carons Pour Homme -- Yes, this is a men's fragrance. Regardless, it smells absolutely divine on women! This scent starts out as a true lavender that dries to a light vanilla apricot. Many women love this fragrance, and wear it every day even though it was originally created for the guys!
